Tiivistelmä
Working-life expectancy is the estimated future time that a person will spend in employment. This research aimed to apply stochastic multistate modeling to measure the length of working careers in the Finland labor force as well as to evaluate the general development and to provide a short-term forecast. While this paper is methodologically motivated, the updated results are promising and show a statistically significant change toward positive trends. The career lengths increased in the 2000s in all age groups and for both genders. The proposed methodology will be used in an upcoming study of the project.
