Tiivistelmä
Disability pensions cause similar problems in different countries. They pull people away from the job market too soon, raising pension expenditure. In Finland, the disability pension is the most common route to retirement among the working population.
In April 2003, experts from five countries met in Helsinki to exchange experiences of methods used in different countries to arrange disability security. A book was created on the basis of this seminar, containing relevant information and viewpoints on the management of incapacity to work in Europe. The authors come from Finland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Austria. A report on the OECD survey, spanning 20 countries, is also included.
